Because of formalities, expectations, and expenses, holidays don’t excite me much. But I love a celebration! Gathering with a loved one (or more) to honor shared values is a delight no matter how modest the occasion. If I have to choose a favorite holiday to celebrate, New Years wins because it compels me to reflect and reset–a very individualized pursuit that practically the whole world participates in! I love that it can be simple or sophisticated, spent with thousands or alone, and planned or spontaneous.

Looking back on 2021 I remember an abundance of challenges and hard work, efforts that seemed lateral rather than forward moving, and slow progress. But I plodded along, putting one determined foot in front of the other. I did it! I reached the milestones set forth, and I’m excited to keep striving toward higher goals. Thanks to individuals and entitites that support Minnesota State Arts Board and the arts, I launched this website in 2021 to keep me connected with people like you, to engage and entertain from afar when we can’t gather, and to reach audiences beyond borders. I’m profoundly grateful for the space to create stories and an audience to share them with. It’s one of my greatest pleasures. Thanks for being part of this experience. I can’t wait to bring you more in 2022!
